The 14th round of the AdmiralBet ABA League will conclude tomorrow (19) in Belgrade, where Partizan will take on Cedevita-Olimpija.

In recent years, these two squads have often engaged in thrilling and unpredictable contests; Cedevita-Olimpija triumphed over the “black and white” in Ljubljana, and last defeated them in Belgrade back in December 2021.

Heading into this match, Slovenia’s champion sits in 10th place on the standings with a record of seven wins and six losses. Unlike their performance in the regional league, they are faring better in the Eurocup, sitting fourth in Group B with a 7-5 record.

“We are looking at a great opportunity to assess our capabilities against a Euroleague team that is viewed as a strong contender for the regional league title, with aspirations for a spot in the Euroleague playoffs. Partizan is a highly skilled team, and we’re eager to leverage any weaknesses they might have to surprise them,” stated Cedevita-Olimpija coach Zvezdan Mitrović in preparation for the match.

Mitrović reassured that the team will arrive in the Serbian capital in high spirits.

“It’s expected that Partizan will perform at the highest level. This presents a valuable chance for us to showcase our talents against a robust defense with outstanding individual players. We approach this match in a relaxed manner, hoping to deliver a strong performance,” remarked Zvezdan Mitrović, who has returned to coaching after recovering from back surgery that sidelined him for part of the season.

Partizan is currently vying for the top spot in the league standings.

“This is the last game of the year, and I encourage fans to come out once more. We’re facing a team that’s in fantastic shape, and I’m particularly pleased to see Zvezdan Mitrović back, as the team has started to improve with his return. I urge all Partizan supporters to rally behind us and refrain from negativity. It’s essential that we focus on what truly matters: basketball and supporting our players,” said Partizan coach Željko Obradović.
