The Mainz squad triumphed over Leipzig with a score of 2:1 in the 24th round of the Bundesliga, securing their position in fourth place in the league standings.
In the early matches of the Bundesliga today, all five visiting teams emerged victorious.
Leipzig initially took the lead with a goal from Xavi Simons just two minutes into the match, but Nadim Amiri brought Mainz back on level terms in the 52nd minute. Jonathan Burkart then netted the winner for Mainz in the 58th minute.
With this victory, Mainz secured their third consecutive win, now holding the 12th position in the league, while climbing to fourth with 41 points. Leipzig, on the other hand, have not won in their last three matches and remain in sixth place with 38 points.
Borussia Dortmund claimed a 2-0 victory against St. Pauli. Sergiu Girasi opened the scoring for Dortmund in the 51st minute, and Karim Adejemi sealed the win in the 58th minute.
Dortmund is currently 10th in the league standings with 35 points, while St. Pauli, suffering their fourth consecutive defeat, sits in 15th with just 15 points.
Wolfsburg defeated Werder Bremen 2-1, with Patrick Wimmer scoring both goals for Wolfsburg in the sixth and 48th minutes. Mitchell Weiser managed to score the only goal for the home team in the 90th minute.
Wolfsburg now stands seventh in the table with 37 points, while Werder Bremen is in 12th place with 30 points following their fourth straight loss.
In other matches, Borussia Monchengladbach won against Heideheim with a score of 3-0, and Hoffenheim triumphed over Bochum 1-0.
Later today, Eintracht Frankfurt will take on Bayer Leverkusen.
