Mijović: An Unacceptable Two-Point Shot at This Level

The SC Derby basketball team faced a defeat in Zadar, struggling with their shooting performance—31 attempts from beyond the 6.75m line resulted in just nine successes, while only 11 of 32 shots from two-point range found the mark.
With such shooting percentages, it was clear that a 71:58 loss was fully warranted.
“There was a moment when we could have made a comeback, but we rushed things and lost the ball unnecessarily, allowing Zadar to capitalize with easy fast-break points,” commented coach Petar Mijović.
“I believe we also overexerted ourselves; our two-point shooting was alarmingly poor—this is simply unacceptable at this level and it seriously impacted our confidence. We have many more matches ahead, we’re still aiming for our goals, and we want to secure some significant victories in the upcoming games,” Mijović added.
Zadar just outperformed us.
“Zadar’s victory was entirely deserved; they maintained control throughout the game. We were hindered by the absence of Zoran Nikolić. Furthermore, Erik Neal was only cleared to play just before the game after dealing with a fever,” Mijović concluded.
