“We Call for a Clear and Unbiased Investigation”

The President of the Municipal Board (OO) of the Justice and Reconciliation Party (SPP) Bijelo Polje, Admir Camić, has responded to the Police Administration’s (UP) announcement regarding the initiation of proceedings against ten police officers alleged to have failed to take adequate measures in the Alija Balijagić case.

Camić expressed that “these manifestations of selective justice, politically driven actions, and ethnic discrimination raise significant concerns.”

He emphasized their belief that all citizens should be treated equally under the law, asserting that no individual is above it.

In this specific instance, he called for a clear and impartial investigation.

“Every party involved in this matter, regardless of their rank or ethnicity, should face equal prosecution if evidence of wrongdoing exists,” stated Camić.

He underscored the need for accountability at all levels of government.

“The responsibility for issues within the police cannot rest solely on lower-ranking officials. The Minister and the Director of Police, as the highest authorities in this system, must also be held accountable if they have not implemented appropriate measures,” Camić explained.

He also highlighted the necessity for an end to political strife.

“Politics should not be played out on the backs of citizens. All participants in political life must approach their roles responsibly and work towards stabilizing societal conditions.”

Camić is of the opinion that enhancing the rule of law is crucial.

“It is essential to fortify institutional frameworks and ensure the rule of law so that every citizen feels secure and protected.”

“We urge all relevant authorities to respond promptly and implement all necessary actions to uncover the truth and bring those responsible to justice. The SPP – Party of Justice and Reconciliation will persist in monitoring the situation and advocating for the enforcement of laws and the protection of the human rights of all citizens,” the statement concludes.
