The Cedevita Olimpija basketball team was unable to leave Belgrade last night after their game against Partizan in the AdmiralBet ABA League on Monday, as two of their flights were canceled due to fog in the Serbian capital.

Cedevita Olimpija is scheduled to play an away game against Lithuanian team Lijetkabelis in Panevezys on Thursday at 18:13, in the 10th round of the Eurocup. On the day of the match, the Slovenian team will split into two groups: one will travel to Riga via Vienna, while the other will take a route through Milan. From the Latvian capital, the team will continue to Lithuania and Panevezys by bus, as reported by Sport Club last night.

Cedevita Olimpija has requested a postponement of their match against Lijetkabelis, but the Eurocup has denied the request.

“Every game in the Eurocup carries great significance. We also face travel challenges, having to stay in Belgrade; Partizan has graciously allowed us to train here, and we are grateful to the ‘black and white’ for their support. We intended to leave immediately after our game with Partizan, but travel issues have extended our stay. We asked to postpone the match, but the head of the Eurocup did not grant us approval,” stated Cedevita Olimpija coach Zvezdan Mitrović, as reported by Sport Club.

“I hope we can make it to Lithuania; it’s understood that we’ll get off the plane and head straight to the court. I am confident that the players will give their all, but whether we can perform at the level required to secure a victory is hard to determine,” Mitrović added.

Cedevita Olimpija, currently sitting fourth in group B of the Eurocup with a record of 7/5, recently lost to Partizan 76:78 on Monday in the 14th round of the regional ABA league, marking their first defeat in that competition after five consecutive wins.
