Montenegro Falls to Norway; Faces Brazil for 11th Place

The women’s cadet handball team from Montenegro is set to compete for the 11th place at the Under-18 World Championship taking place in China.
In today’s playoff match for placements between ninth and 23rd, Montenegrin female cadets lost to Norway with a score of 12:30.
This defeat marks the second consecutive loss for Tatjana Jeraminok’s team in this prestigious tournament, where they previously secured two victories and one draw.
Norway dominated the match from the start, leading 5:1 by the seventh minute and finishing the first half with a score of 16:13.
The outcome was largely decided in the 45th minute when the Scandinavian team extended their lead to “plus 9” (23:14) following a streak of six consecutive goals.
Elena Mitrović was the standout player for the Montenegrin team, scoring six goals, while Maja Ceklić added five and Milka Pavlović contributed less. Lucija Jovanović also had an impressive performance with eight saves.
The Montenegrin female cadets will face Brazil in the upcoming match for the 11th place.
