BiH Prosecutor’s Office Issues Arrest Order for Milorad Dodik; Arrest Warrant to Follow if Necessary.

The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) has ordered the judicial police to arrest Milorad Dodik, President of Republika Srpska, along with Prime Minister Radovan Višković and Nenad Stevandić, the Speaker of the Republika Srpska National Assembly. This information was confirmed to Radio Television Republika Srpska (RTRS) by the Government of Republika Srpska (RS).

As reported by RTRS, the arrest order comes from Prosecutor Ćazim Hasanspahić, with the trio accused of the criminal offense of “attacking the constitutional order”.

The Prosecutor’s Office has issued an arrest warrant to the judicial police and has sought assistance from the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) and the state Investigation and Protection Agency SIPA, according to RTRS.

Željko Dragojević, the Director of the RS Court Police, stated to the television station that the RS Court Police cannot issue an arrest warrant, as this falls under the jurisdiction of SIPA and the Court Police of the Court of BiH.

The Investigation and Protection Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (SIPA) has been ordered by the Court Police of the Court of BiH to assist in the apprehension of Dodik, Višković, and Stevandić, confirmed by this police agency to Beta.

Should Dodik, Višković, and Stevandić not be detained, an internal arrest warrant will be issued, allowing any police agency within BiH, including the BiH Border Police, to arrest them.

If they remain unapprehended under the domestic warrant, an Interpol or international warrant will be issued.

The BiH Prosecutor’s Office has initiated proceedings against Dodik, Višković, and Stevandić for violating the “constitutional order” following the publication of laws passed by the RS National Assembly on February 27 in the RS Official Gazette, which prohibited the functioning of the Prosecutor’s Office and the Court of BiH, the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (HJPC), and SIPA in the territory of RS.

These laws have been temporarily suspended by a ruling from the Constitutional Court of BiH.
