A Month Without an Energy Minister Accurately Reflects Spajić’s Approach to the Sector

“While they assumed power claiming to be experts ready to rejuvenate the state and its institutions, Prime Minister Milojko Spajić and his administration have, over the course of a year and a half, demonstrated through their reckless and detrimental approach to governance that they are not fit to hold pivotal state positions,” stated the Civic Movement (GP) URA.

They further pointed out that since Saša Mujović, the former Minister of Energy, assumed the role of Mayor of the Capital City on December 28, 2024, that sector has been effectively “headless.”

URA underscores that Mujović “departed with exceptionally poor performance results.”

“In the initial six months of 2024, the Electric Power Company of Montenegro incurred a loss of three million euros, whereas during the same period in 2023, under Dritan Abazović’s government, the company recorded a profit of 101 million euros. Notably, in the first nine months, EPCG experienced a deficit of 21.8 million euros, in contrast to a loss of 61.5 million euros during the same timeframe in 2023,” ERO emphasized.

They assert that a month without a head for the Ministry of Energy “most poignantly illustrates Spajić’s disregard for the sector crucial to sustaining our economy.”

“We are anticipating the new minister to publish the final balance sheet for 2024 and provide clarity on Mujović’s achievements in his ministerial role,” URA concluded.
