“Partizan Triumphs Over Maccabi Amidst Plush Toys on the Field and a Moment of Silence for the Cetinje Tragedy”

The Partizan basketball team achieved a decisive victory over Maccabi, winning 98 to 75 in the Belgrade Arena during the Euroleague’s 19th round.

The game reflected a clear dominance, as Maccabi never led at any point; the only ties in the match occurred at the very beginning and end, both at 2:2.

Before the match commenced, heartwarming scenes unfolded as thousands of stuffed toys were tossed onto the court, destined for donation to underprivileged children. Additionally, the game began with a moment of silence honoring the 12 victims of the tragic events that impacted Cetinje and Montenegro on January 1.

Once the teddy bears were cleared from the floor, it was evident that only one team was in control. The “black and white” squad had already secured a 15-point lead by the end of the first quarter. Even when Maccabi narrowed the gap to 8 points in the third quarter, Partizan responded with an impressive run, outscoring them 25 to 2.

The lead reached a maximum of 29 points, ultimately finishing at a 23-point advantage for Željko Obradović’s team.

Stanley Brown led Partizan with 21 points, followed by Davis with 16 and Washington with 13. For Maccabi, Blat contributed 16 points and Dibartolome added 15.

This victory marks Partizan’s ninth win after a challenging series of 10 losses, as they now prepare for a tough stretch of three away games against Panathinaikos, Olimpia Milano, and Lyon-Villeurbanne.
