Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić stated that today saw “Silesian and hooligan” behavior in the Serbian Parliament, calling for criminal accountability for those involved in the incidents.
In an interview with Pink television, Vučić expressed his reluctance to “use harsh language,” indicating that he wants to see how the prosecution will respond to the situation.
“We are pursuing accountability, both criminal and legal, and I am awaiting the prosecution’s response… If the roles were reversed, those in power would have been severely punished by now,” he remarked, as reported by the Beta agency.
Vučić emphasized that “we will not rest until those responsible are held accountable.”
He described the day as difficult for Serbia and for “every decent” citizen, attributing it to the “thuggish and hooligan behavior” that he claims has not been witnessed since the onset of multi-party politics, according to RTS.
Regarding the welfare of the MPs involved, he noted that MP Sonja Ilić, who is eight months pregnant, and her baby are both doing well, while MP Jasmina Obradović is in stable condition following a stroke, which he personally checked on.
Vučić reported that MP Jasmina Karanac was attacked with pepper spray by MP Miloš Jovanović and mentioned that he had communicated with her.
