Mandić and Knežević Offer Institutional Backing to Dodik, Reiterating Anti-European State Policy

Andrija Mandić and Milan Knežević have made it clear that they offer institutional backing to the convicted leader of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, as stated by the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS).

According to the DPS, this action has “directly disrupted” Montenegro’s relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina and has “once again portrayed the official state policy as anti-European.”

“This is merely the latest instance of the President of the Parliament obstructing Montenegro’s European path, undermining good neighborly relations in the region, and attempting to hinder the country’s progress toward EU membership. It is regrettable that all parties within the ruling majority can see Andrija Mandić’s intentions but remain silent because their positions rely on his party’s support. Similarly, state institutions appear to be ignoring clear violations of the law,” the statement asserts.

Consequently, they noted that the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption has yet to respond, despite the institution’s obligation to investigate how the expenses of the flight to Banja Luka, which the two former leaders took, were covered.

“Mandić’s provocation in Banja Luka reaffirms that his objective is to prevent our country from achieving EU membership, a goal that is, whether intentionally or not, supported by other political groups allied with him,” the DPS stated.
