Nearly nine years have passed since the Special Police Department and the Special State Prosecutor’s Office have successfully solved the murder of Dalibor Đurić from Kotor. He was fatally shot by a sniper on September 22, 2016, within the confines of the Directorate for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions.

The SDT announced that under their directive, the Special Police Department has brought forward criminal charges against three individuals: Srđan Popović, Boban Milić, and Nenad Nen Kaluđerović. These charges stem from suspicions related to their involvement in forming a criminal organization.

The SDT statement read, “SP and BM, as co-perpetrators, are both culpable of aggravated murder, while NK is charged with aggravated murder as an accomplice and SP for illegal possession of weapons and explosives.”

Furthermore, they clarified that the criminal report involves a criminal organization comprising the accused and other unidentified individuals, all with clearly defined roles aimed at committing serious offenses, including the murder of Đurić, who was affiliated with a rival criminal group inside the Institute for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions.

Suspects Popović and Milić are currently in custody at the Directorate for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions, held for unrelated criminal cases, while suspect Kaluđerović remains elusive to state authorities.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Kaluđerović, who was already detained in connection with another criminal case.

Dalibor Đurić was shot and killed by a sniper rifle in September 2016 while he was training in a semi-open area behind the walls of the Supša prison. He was regarded as a significant figure within the “Skaljar clan.”

For their involvement in this crime, Dejan R. Pavićević was sentenced to 18 years in prison at the end of 2020, alongside Miloš V. Trbo, who received a cumulative sentence of 16 years from the Higher Court.

The court noted, “They drove to the location where the burnt vehicle was found following the murder. Đurić was treacherously killed in the ZIKS warehouse on September 22, 2016. The defendants were tasked with eliminating evidence post-murder, as a rifle and optical sight were discovered in the charred Škoda Octavia. Their actions not only destroyed evidence but also facilitated the disposal of incriminating materials,” as stated in the ruling by Judge Dragoje Jović, which was later upheld by the Court of Appeal.

Pavićević and Trbo were aware of the murder plan and understood the need to surveil Đurić’s habits, acquire a suitable weapon, and develop a strategy to evade law enforcement.

“In determining the sentence, the court acknowledged the highest level of intent to kill Đurić,” remarked Judge Jović.

The indictment outlines that on September 22, 2016, they drove from Kotor to Podgorica in Pavićević’s “Golf IV” BD AZ 065, disabling their mobile phones to avoid detection before traveling to Rogami. They prepared to burn the “damaged vehicle” CB179VW along with evidence of the murder.

“Following their plan, they waited in Danilovgrad for an unidentified accomplice to commit the murder of Dalibor Đurić – a convicted inmate at the Spuž Institution for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions – in a treacherous act motivated by greed. When the victim was observed walking, a shot was fired from a 7.9 mm sniper rifle, inflicting a fatal chest wound. Subsequently, Pavićević and Trbo returned to Rogame, leaving behind a ‘Skoda Octavia’ and the weapon used in the shooting. They then smashed the rear windshield with a hammer, doused the vehicle’s interior in gasoline, and ignited it using several Molotov cocktails, thereby destroying all physical evidence and allowing the assailant to escape unimpeded,” the indictments stated.
