Lecce Faces Setback as Udinese Players Argue Over Penalty Decision (VIDEO)
The Lecce players have once again failed to celebrate at their “Via del Mare” for the fifth consecutive time. Montenegrin striker Nikola Krstović, meanwhile, missed the chance to score in Serie A for the third match in succession.
In a match held in southern Italy, Udinese secured a 1-0 victory, which was overshadowed by a dispute among the “Zebra” players regarding the penalty that determined the outcome of the game.
The penalty was taken and scored by Lorenzo Luka in the 32nd minute, but he was quickly substituted following a disagreement with nearly the entire team about the penalty kick.
Although Floran Tovan is known as Udinese’s first-choice penalty taker, Luka chose to take the penalty himself, despite his teammates urging him to hand it over…
After a brief confrontation, Luka received a yellow card, scored the goal (not one of the Udinese players celebrated with him), and was subsequently sent to the bench by coach Kosta Runjaić.
Udinese performed better both prior to and following Luka’s goal, rightfully achieving their sixth win in the league.
In contrast, Lens sits with five points and has played one more game than Parma, who currently occupies a relegation spot.
Krstović participated in the entire match.
