Džaković Maintains Strong Momentum as Vukčević, Petranović, and Budrak Achieve Victories

Our national volleyball players abroad continue to deliver impressive performances with their clubs. In this week’s summary, we highlight the achievements of our international athletes over the past week.

Representing Azerbaijan, Danijela Džaković is excelling for Mili Aviasia Akademiasi, establishing herself as a key player on the team. In the recent third round match of the local league, she scored 18 points, leading her team to a 3:0 victory over Murova. Džaković and her teammates celebrated their win at home with set scores of 25:19, 25:21, and 25:18. Additionally, in the first match of the next round, her team also triumphed over UNEC with a flawless score of 3:0 (25:7, 25:9, 25:16), where she contributed 15 points, including 10 from attacks, four aces, and a block.

Nevena Vukčević and GEN-I Volley secured a hard-fought victory against Luka Koper Volley, finishing the match 3:2 (19:25, 22:25, 25:23, 25:17, 15:9). Nevena played a vital role in the first two sets, scoring eight points.

Following their MEVZA league triumph, Simona Petranović and her team maintained their winning streak in the Croatian domestic league, defeating Kelteks 3:0 (25:19, 25:18, 25:13) in the 16th round. Petranović participated in two sets, contributing seven points.

In the French championship, Bordeaux, represented by middle blocker Katarina Budrak, had a decisive victory over France Avenir, winning 3:0 (25:19, 25:22, 25:22) in the 24th round. Budrak added four points to the team’s performance. Bordeaux is currently positioned seventh in the standings with a half-point score.

During the play-off phase of the Romanian championship, Mina Dragović and Lugoš fell short of reaching the semi-finals and will compete for positions 5th to 8th against Targoviste. In the second match of the tournament for a top-four finish, Lugoš managed to secure just one set while facing Korona Brasov, resulting in a 3:1 defeat (25:19, 23:25, 27:25, 28:26). Mina Dragović did not play in this match; however, in the third tournament match, she scored three points, but her team lost again, this time 3:1 (25:19, 25:14, 23:25, 26:24).

Jedinstvo Stara Pazova, under the guidance of coach Jovo Caković, achieved another convincing victory. In the 20th round, the team won on the road against Radnički with a score of 3:0 (25:20, 25:18, 25:21). Coach Caković’s squad currently holds the fifth position with a record of 13-7, while middle blocker Staša Mitrović did not participate in this match.

Darja Popović made her mark in this round with four points during her team’s 3:0 defeat to Željezničar (25:11, 25:12, 25:20). Meanwhile, Lara Jovović supported her Srem team from the bench as they secured a 3:0 victory (25:13, 25:17, 25:15) against Partizan.
