This season, Montenegro will be represented by two clubs in the Champions League, along with an additional two representatives in the Eurocup, the continent’s second-tier competition.

After several years, Budva Riviera and Kataro are making their return to the European stage, and they have recently discovered their opponents for the qualifiers.

Budva will be the host for one of the qualifying tournaments, where they will face formidable opponents including the notable teams Breša and Honved, alongside regional representatives Valis from Valjevo and Banja Luka.

Kataro, on the other hand, will compete in Zagreb, where they will encounter their native team, Mladost, a strong contender that was anticipated to enter the Champions League. Additionally, Kataro will also face Enka from Istanbul, Greece’s Apollon, and Spain’s Sant Andreu.

The prestigious European club Pro Reko, having scaled back its ambitions following the departure of owner Gabriele Volpi, is expected to add a unique element to this competition.

Despite the changes, the club retains several top talents, positioning them as a key favorite alongside Mladost in the tournament.

The two leading teams from each qualifying tournament will progress to the Eurocup group stage.

In addition, the European Aquatics (formerly LEN) will host another event known as the Challenger Cup, featuring teams from smaller water polo nations such as Portugal, the United Kingdom, Slovenia, Lithuania, Slovakia, and the Netherlands.
