Basketball fans worldwide anticipated an epic showdown between the top two teams in the NBA, and they were not disappointed as Cleveland and Oklahoma put on a thrilling display.

Despite it being only January, and with many games still to come, the matchup in Ohio will be remembered as one of the season’s highlights. After an intense battle filled with ups and downs, the Cavs maintained their impressive winning streak with a score of 129:122.

This game marked just the third occasion in history, and the first since January 1995, that both teams entered the game boasting double-digit winning streaks. The Cavs extended their impressive run to 11 games, while they ended Oklahoma’s 15-game streak (excluding the NBA Cup final).

Both teams entered the match with outstanding records for the current season, with Kenya Atkinson’s squad now standing at 32-4 and Oklahoma at 30-6.

Jarrett Allen led the winning team with 25 points, while Evan Mobley contributed 21, Darius Garland added 18, and Max Struss chipped in 17. On the opposing side, Shay Gilgeous-Alexander scored 31 points, Jaylen Williams had 25, and Izea Hartenstein recorded 18.

Meanwhile, Nikola Vucevic’s Chicago Bulls faced off the night before, but neither the team nor the Montenegrin center found their rhythm—Chicago fell to Indiana with a score of 129:113, and Vucevic tallied 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds.

Chicago’s loss ended a two-game winning streak, bringing their record to 17 wins and 20 losses, while the Pacers improved to 20-18, positioning themselves in the playoff zone in the East.

Indiana was powered to victory by Pascal Siakam (26 points, six rebounds) and Thomas Bryant (22 points, eight rebounds), with Zak Lavine leading Vucevic’s team with 31 points.

The anticipated duel between two prominent European centers, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Victor Wembanyama, concluded in favor of the Greek star—Milwaukee handily defeated San Antonio 121:105.

Giannis finished the game with 25 points, 16 rebounds, and eight assists, while Wembanyama struggled, managing only 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Damian Lillard was the standout performer for the winning side, scoring 26 points and dishing out eight assists.

Denver also enjoyed victory despite the absence of their star player Nikola Jokić, defeating the Los Angeles Clippers 126:103 on home soil.

Jamal Murray led the Nuggets with 21 points and nine assists, while Norman Powell was the highest scorer for the Clippers with 30 points.
