Juniors Shine in the Second Round
The Montenegrin junior basketball team secured a victory against Croatia, winning 85:80 in the second round of Group D at the European Championship held in Romania.
This marks the Montenegrin juniors’ second win in the championship, following their 92:73 victory over Norway in the opening match.
At halftime, the Montenegrin juniors were leading with a score of 59:36, seemingly having settled the outcome of the game.
Croatia made a comeback, narrowing the gap to just four points with three minutes remaining (79:75).
A crucial three-pointer from Danilo Nikezić turned the tide, with Đorđe Đukanović sealing the win with another precise three-pointer, bringing the score to 85:77.
Đukanović was the standout player, scoring 19 points. Đorđe Gulić contributed 17 points, Vladimir Komnenović added 16, while Maksim Brnović scored one less.
Montenegro is set to face the Netherlands in the third round on Tuesday at 19:30 PM.
