In line with heightened planned activities to ensure the safety of citizens and tourists in popular locations and tourist hotspots where security risks are more pronounced during the summer, the Special Police Unit is actively carrying out preventive and operational measures within the Regional Security Center “South,” as reported by the Police Directorate.
The police indicated that the intensified efforts to monitor individuals and vehicles by the Special Police Unit aim to identify, prevent, and address all forms of illegal activities that might jeopardize public order, peace, and the safety of both citizens and tourists along the Montenegrin coast.
“A crucial component of these operations involves the officers from the Guide Training and Service Dog Training Group within the Special Police Unit. Their contribution is valuable for enhancing the efficiency of inspections, detecting illegal substances, uncovering concealed items, and generally boosting preventive policing efforts amid the rising number of visitors,” the statement noted.
The Police Directorate has emphasized that by implementing enhanced preventive measures, particularly through the engagement of the Special Police Unit, they are committed to upholding security throughout the summer tourist season. This focus is vital for maintaining a stable and secure environment, ensuring the smooth operation of tourist activities, and promoting Montenegro as a safe destination for its residents and visitors alike.
