They Didn’t Stand a Chance; We Held All the Control.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić stated that during this morning’s attempted blockades throughout Serbia, the police maintained full control and that the participants “stood no chance.”
Vučić informed Pink television that there were more police officers deployed this morning than “those engaging in obstructing citizens.”
“You haven’t disrupted anything essential except the interests of your neighbors. The reasons behind this are unclear, perhaps they seek social media attention. With each day of these blockades, their support wanes significantly because the public does not endorse it. They can continue to inconvenience citizens for a bit longer, but it will ultimately backfire,” the president remarked.
He urged participants in the blockades to “perform their duties, vote as they please, but not to jeopardize the rights of others.”
“We are concerned about safety, and they recklessly throw containers into the streets. They alone can cause harm, no one else,” Vučić noted.
He expressed “great admiration” for Interior Minister Ivica Dačić, Police Director Dragan Vasiljević, and all police units in Serbia, who, he said, bravely and lawfully undertook a challenging and thankless mission.
“They executed their duties with exceptional professionalism and will continue to do so in the future,” the president added.
In response to the president of the Serbia Center party (SRCE), Zdravko Ponoš, claiming that international mediation is necessary to resolve the crisis in Serbia, Vučić remarked that he “doesn’t care what they say.”
