Everton triumphed over Brighton with a 2-0 victory at home in the second round of the English Premier League.
This marked Everton’s first official win at their new Dickinson Hill stadium, featuring goals from Illiman Ndiaye in the 23rd minute and James Garner in the 52nd minute, both assisted by Jack Grealish.
Brighton had their best opportunity in the 77th minute when Danny Welbeck failed to score from the penalty spot.
Following this match, Everton stands eighth with three points, while Brighton is positioned 17th with just one point.
In the upcoming round, Everton will travel to Wolverhampton, and Brighton will take on Manchester City at home.
Meanwhile, Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest ended in a 1-1 draw in London.
The home side took an early lead with Ismail Sarr’s goal in the 37th minute, yet Nottingham Forest equalized through Callum Hudson-Odoi in the 57th minute.
Currently, Nottingham sits fourth with four points, while Crystal Palace is in 13th position with two points.
In the next round, Crystal Palace will host Aston Villa in Birmingham, while Nottingham Forest will welcome West Ham.
