Buducnost Triumphs in Ivan Delić’s Debut, Jezero Tops Sutjeska, Mornar Secures Victory After Comeback
The derby of the fourth round of the MeridianBet First Montenegrin Football League was claimed by the reigning champions as Buducnost triumphed over Dečić with a score of 2:0 tonight at Gorica, marking the debut of coach Ivan Delić, in a match highlighted by Lazar Mijović’s performance.
This victory is crucial for the “blues,” given the club’s current circumstances, and it may signal even more impressive outings from the Podgorica squad.
Buducnost showcased greater motivation tonight, outplaying their opponents and earning a well-deserved second win of the season. The opening goal came in the seventh minute when the “blues” initiated a counterattack; captain Petar Grbić sent a pass into space for Lazar Mijović, who delivered the ball into the box for Ivan Bojović to convert.
Midway through the first half, Mijović tested the keeper with a shot towards the near corner, but Miloš Dragojević made the save. Mijović had other opportunities as well, combining with Marko Milicković for a shot that went wide. Grbić had another chance following a pass from Lazar Savović, but failed to find the net. The second goal, much like the first, came shortly after the half began – in the 52nd minute, Nedeljko Piščević took a shot, and the ball deflected off a Dečić player to Mijović, who capped his stellar performance with a goal.
Buducnost nearly added a third when Milicković unleashed a stunning long-range shot that crashed against the crossbar.
The players of Sutjeska faced their first loss of the season in the domestic league, falling to Jezera (2:1) away from home, which marked Jezera’s first victory.
The home team struck first in the 45th minute with Aldin Adžović delivering a corner kick that found Nenad Krivokapić unmarked at the edge of the penalty area, who scored against Vladan Giljen. This was a significant error by the Sutjeska defense.
In the 51st minute, Jezera extended their lead as Meldin Kojić delivered a cross for Petar Bogdanović to finish.
Sutjeska managed to pull one back just four minutes later when Andrija Ražnatović scored from a corner kick and a cross from Marko Šimun.
Bokelj SBBeta and Jedinstvo France concluded their match in a 1-1 draw in Kotor. The home team took the lead through Šaleta Kordić, but Žarko Korac converted a penalty to equalize for Jedinstvo.
The match between Petrovac and Arsenal ended without goals, while Mornar, after a turnaround, secured a win against Mladost Lob.Bet with a score of 2:1. The team at the “DG Arena” took the lead in the 15th minute with a goal from Lazar Knežević, before Ilija Martinović equalized in the 34th minute.
Balša Sekulić clinched the victory for Mornar in the 78th minute.
