Over 12 kg of Explosives, Cossack Brotherhood ID Cards, and Ammunition Seized in Montenegro
Danko Savić (61), a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), was apprehended in Danilovgrad, his place of residence, where the police confiscated 12.2 kilograms of explosives, 33 assorted ammunition pieces of various types and calibers, night vision gear, several weapon cleaning tools, two radio units, a signal pistol, a revolver component, along with emblems featuring coats of arms and inscriptions, identification cards associated with the Montenegrin Cossack Brotherhood organization—including photographs and different names—a gas mask, and a metal boxing.
The Police Directorate reported that Savić was taken into custody as part of ongoing targeted, synchronized, and coordinated operations involving their officers alongside the Intelligence and Security Directorate of the Ministry of Defense.
“DS (61), originally from Bosnia and Herzegovina, living in the Ćurilac village of Danilovgrad, has been detained. In two separate operations, police confiscated a substantial amount of explosives, ammunition, and military-grade equipment,” stated the UP.
They elaborated that on June 28th, police discovered a starting pistol and 38 military badges in Savić’s possession within Nikšić:
“During further targeted actions, the Danilovgrad police, in collaboration with officers from the Podgorica Security Department, and in conjunction with the Intelligence and Security Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, searched his apartment and other locations he frequents in Ćurilac, where they located and seized 12.2 kilograms of explosives, 33 assorted ammunition pieces, night vision gear, various cleaning supplies, two radio units, a signal pistol, and part of a revolver.
Additionally, during this operation, the police discovered and confiscated emblems adorned with coats of arms and inscriptions, ID cards displaying photographs and names, various buttons and buckles featuring coats of arms, a stamped inscription, a gas mask, several epaulettes, and a metal box belonging to DS.
They indicated that the incident has been reported to the prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica:
“Under whose directive was DS taken into custody on suspicion of committing the offense of illegal possession and carrying of weapons and explosives?”
“Through interagency cooperation, Police Directorate officers are enhancing the overall level of collective security at the national level, aiming to mitigate the impacts of all negative manifestations at both national and international tiers,” the UP remarked.
Savić was previously arrested in October 2018 in Danilovgrad when police uncovered several pistols, a rifle, ammunition, and about a kilogram of TNT in his possession.
Apparently, he is a former military personnel…
