“Exciting Prospects Ahead for the Former Fenerbahçe Guard and 105-Game NBA Veteran”
Buducnost is gradually assembling a stronger squad, with a fourth newcomer set to join in Podgorica for the upcoming season.
Skylar Mays has been announced as the new vice-champion of the ABA League.
The Podgorica club revealed that the Louisiana native is joining from the NBA G League, where he represented the Iowa Wolves, the development team for Minnesota, towards the close of last season.
Earlier last season, he also played in the Euroleague as part of the reigning European champions – Fenerbahçe.
“Standing at 191 cm tall, he is 27 years old and plays as a combo guard. He was picked by Atlanta in the 2020 NBA Draft and has appeared for the Portland Trail Blazers and the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA. Over a total of 105 NBA games, he made his best mark with the Trail Blazers, averaging 15.3 points and 8.3 assists across six contests,” Buducnost stated.
They highlighted his excellent shooting, high basketball IQ, and solid rebounding skills for a player at his position.
“He began his NCAA career at LSU University as a point guard and evolved into the team’s offensive leader by his senior year. Notably, he was among the top students, graduating with a degree in kinesiology, which gives him a plan B in medicine should his basketball ambitions not pan out,” Buducnost concluded.
Prior to Mays, Buducnost secured the signings of point guard Oleksandr Kovliar, small forward Aksel Butey, and center Jerry Frank Butsijela for the new season.
In addition to these new signings, the “blue and white” team has also extended contracts for Yogi Ferrell and Juvne Morgan, while McKinley Raj and Kenan Kamenjaš are no longer part of the Podgorica roster as of this summer.
