Adžović Consistently Opposes the Majority Will of the Albanian Population

The President of the Albanian Forum’s Club of Deputies, Artan Čobi, stated today that Minister of Public Works, Majda Adžović, is consistently undermining the will of the Albanian majority population.

He claimed that since her appointment, Minister Adžović has maintained a pattern of anti-Albanian policies, deliberately opposing the interests and the democratic will of the majority Albanian populace—first in Ulcinj and now continuing the same practices in the municipality of Tuzi.

“Upon taking office, she insulted the local government in Ulcinj with her actions and decisions, blatantly disregarding the needs of citizens and their elected representatives. Now, in Tuzi—where Albanians also dominate the government—she is repeating this pattern: without any legal basis, she has invalidated the already initiated procedure for selecting a contractor for constructing a sports center valued at over 10 million euros,” said Čobi.

He described this as a direct attack on the progress of the Tuzi municipality and a blatant affront to the local government.

“The minister behaves as if she is still aligned with the previous DPS-SD regime that deceived the citizens of Tuzi with empty promises about sports halls, roads, and major projects, achieving almost nothing. It is evident that Ms. Adžović, driven by political vendetta and the interests of the past administration, is attempting to halt any developmental progress where Albanians play a crucial role in governance,” Čobi remarked.

He further stated that through this action, the minister is not just unlawfully obstructing the municipality’s development but might also face criminal liability—since this project adheres to regulatory standards, with financing sourced from the capital budget, and all procedures were properly executed by the municipality of Tuzi.

“Regrettably, Minister Adžović’s actions validate our concerns, which led the Albanian Forum to oppose her appointment. Today, it’s clear that our worries were not a political calculation but a responsible position advocating for our citizens’ interests,” he stated.

Čobi urged Adžović “to promptly cease political hindrances and allow the continuity of the legal contractor selection process.”

“Any further delay will serve as evidence of her political bias and active opposition to the interests of the citizens of Tuzi—against the principles of legality, accountability, and equitable development across Montenegro. Should she fail to act, it will become evident that she carries full political and legal responsibility for obstructing local development and grossly violating the will of its citizens. We will not permit this,” Čobi concluded.
