Marijuana Discovered in Car Seat Cover: Kosovo Citizen Faces Misdemeanor Charge

Officers from the Ulcinj border police yesterday discovered a PVC package containing green plant material believed to be marijuana within the seat upholstery of a Chevrolet vehicle operated by FB (27) from Kosovo, as announced by the Police Directorate today.
The statement explained, “Officers from the Border Police Station I in Ulcinj conducted border checks at the Sukobin border crossing on a Chevrolet passenger vehicle driven by FB (27) from Kosovo, with EB (23) from Kosovo as a passenger. During the vehicle inspection with the assistance of a narcotics detection dog, a PVC package containing green plant material, identified as marijuana, was found in the seat upholstery.”
The Police Directorate further stated that the prosecutor at the Higher State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica was notified of the finding, which determined that the actions of these individuals did not meet the criteria for a criminal offense. Instead, a misdemeanor charge will be filed against them for infractions of the Law on the Prevention of Drug Abuse.
Additionally, police officers from the Border Police Station I in Ulcinj conducted a check on a bus and its driver, HT, along with a passenger, KH (40) from Kosovo, at the same border crossing.
“Utilizing a service dog, officers searched the bus and discovered a PVC package containing green plant matter suspected to be marijuana. The prosecutor at the Higher State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica was informed about this incident and has ordered the collection of information from the individual, as well as the implementation of necessary measures and actions to clarify all facts and circumstances related to the found drugs. A statement will later be issued regarding the potential criminal liability of one or both parties,” the Police Directorate’s statement noted.
