The Montenegrin water polo team’s performance against Australia in their fourth match at the World Cup tournament in Podgorica can be best summarized by coach Vladimir Gojković’s remarks.
The “Sharks” clinched victory with a score of 12:11, thanks to a goal by Vasilij Radović just 16 seconds before the final whistle, keeping their hopes alive for a spot in the finals.
“We were more fortunate than skillful. We lost a match we had under control. After our defeat against Serbia, which hit us hard because we were optimistic about winning, we tried to bounce back, but we clearly weren’t prepared to manage this contest,” Gojković explained.
What is the current standing of the Montenegrin team in the world water polo rankings?
“At this moment, we find ourselves closer to the lower-ranked teams than those at the top. We need to put in more effort than we have so far,” Gojković stated clearly.
