The Railway Infrastructure of Montenegro (ŽICG) has stated that one of its employees, Andrej Kaluđerović, representing the workers who suspended operations, has declined invitations to engage in discussions with the company’s executive management and Board of Directors. These discussions were offered multiple times to resolve issues that would benefit employees and ensure the smooth functioning of transport services.
“This situation clearly demonstrates that the current actions are not rooted in union or workers’ concerns but rather in political motivations aimed at disrupting railway operations, causing direct harm to both passengers and the economy. Kaluđerović understands that his demands cannot be satisfied as he envisions because any decisions regarding wage increases or amendments to the collective agreement require input and approval from the Ministry of Finance, alongside the agreement of representative unions,” stated ŽICG.
They also noted that Kaluđerović “continues to refuse management’s offers for dialogue and insists on imposing his conditions for the trains to run adequately.”
“The Railway Infrastructure of Montenegro reiterates its call for all employees to adhere to lawful and responsible practices, while urging relevant authorities to respond effectively to this apparent obstruction, which is severely damaging public interest and transport safety. Additionally, we notify citizens and operators of passenger and freight transport that rail services will remain suspended until further notice,” concluded the statement.
