Krstović Joins Atalanta as Their New Striker
The battle for survival is concluded; now we turn our focus to the top of Serie A and the Champions League. It’s official: Nikola Krstović has joined Atalanta as their new striker.
The Bergamo club has confirmed that the former Lecce player has signed, marking him as the sixth addition of the summer, though contract details remain undisclosed.
Krstović will don the “black and blue” jersey bearing the number 90, after previously sporting 29 with Zeta, 99 with Crvena Zvezda, 45 with Dunajska Streda, and the number 9 with Lecce.
“The entire Atalanta club extends a heartfelt welcome to Nikola and wishes him great success – both individually and with the team in the black and blue jersey,” reads a statement from Atalanta’s website.
The 2024 Europa League winner provided a comprehensive overview of the 25-year-old Montenegrin’s football journey—from his goals at Zeta to his impressive tally of 20 goals and 7 assists while playing for Lecce.
Reports from Italian media suggest that Atalanta secured Krstović for a fee of €25 million plus bonuses.
The new Serie A campaign kicks off this weekend, with Atalanta set to host Pisa on Sunday. There’s a strong possibility our new striker will make his debut in this match, as he mentioned to fans that he looks forward to seeing them at the stadium that day.
