This morning, members of the Maritime Safety and Port Management Administration (UPSUL), along with the crew of a taxi boat, conducted a successful rescue operation in Bar, helping six French citizens in the Crni Rt area near Čanj.
At approximately 9:30 a.m., the Maritime Operations Center (POC) received a report from the Border Police Sector in Bar indicating that a group of individuals was stranded on an inaccessible shore and required evacuation. This report was also corroborated by the crew of the taxi boat “Montenegro,” who identified that the vessel transporting the tourists had sustained damage.
“Upon receiving the alert, the Administration dispatched its rescue boat with officers from the Search and Rescue Unit. They began the evacuation process as soon as they arrived on the scene. The Montenegro taxi boat, which was the first to reach the location, also assisted in the operation,” stated UPSUL.
The six French nationals were safely transferred to the UPSUL lifeboat and transported to the Port of Bar.
The Maritime Safety and Port Management Authority urges all participants in maritime activities to stay updated on weather forecasts and navigational conditions, especially boaters and owners of recreational vessels, as unfavorable weather is anticipated in the coming days.
