Suspect in Temple Car Incident, Injuring Two, Held at KCCG

Jelena Radonjić (44), who is believed to have struck two individuals with her vehicle at the Church of the Resurrection of Christ in Podgorica, is currently detained at the Clinical Center of Montenegro for evaluation, as reported by the Police Directorate.
The police report indicates that a Turkish citizen, Kursha Borben (44), sustained severe injuries and is also being treated at the Clinical Center, while Jovana Radović (22) incurred minor injuries.
The incident outside the temple was reported to law enforcement at 21:36, when the suspect disregarded the parking ramp barrier, subsequently driving off and colliding with pedestrians on the steps.
“The female motorist was disoriented and unable to recount the incident; thus, she, along with the two injured parties, received medical attention. She was admitted to the Clinical Center of Montenegro for observation. The wounded foreign national suffered serious injuries and is likewise under care, while the other individual has minor injuries,” the police communicated.
Following an order from the prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica, Radonjić has been arrested on suspicion of committing serious offenses against public safety in conjunction with public endangerment charges.
“Thorough investigations are currently being conducted concerning this individual, as well as gathering further details regarding the conditions under which the crime occurred,” the police stated.
