Arsenal Football Club has finalized a deal with Crystal Palace for the transfer of Eberechi Eze, valued at £67.5 million, according to reports from British media.
The London-based club will pay a base fee of £60 million, supplemented by an additional £7.5 million in performance-related bonuses. Negotiations over personal terms with the player are reportedly nearing completion, as stated by Sky Sports.
Despite Eze’s buyout clause of €60 million plus €X million in bonuses expiring before the Premier League season commenced, Arsenal successfully capitalized on the opportunity to secure the transfer ahead of city rivals Tottenham, who were close to finalizing a deal on Wednesday.
The England international is anticipated to be included in Palace’s lineup for the Conference League match on Thursday as he bids farewell to the supporters, with a medical at Arsenal potentially occurring as soon as Friday.
Tottenham had intended to offer Richarlison in a trade, which would have cleared the way for Joan Visa’s arrival from Brentford. However, Arsenal expedited the transaction following an injury to Kai Havertz and secured the desired signing from their competitor.
Eze (27) was a key player in Palace’s draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, with his contract at the club running until 2026.
