Montenegro Falls Short in Opening Friendly Match
Last night, the Montenegrin national basketball team faced off against France and suffered a loss (81:75) in their first friendly match as part of the build-up for the European Championship.
Despite facing challenges this summer, our team demonstrated its capacity to compete against top-tier teams.
Montenegro was not at full strength, missing Kyle Olman, who is expected to join his teammates on Thursday in Bar.
Nikola Vučević led our team with 19 points, followed by Simonović with 11, Drobnjak with 10, Jovanović with nine, and both Mihailović and Slavković contributing eight points each.
For the French team, Alexandre Sarr was a standout performer, scoring 19 points, while Hifi added 14 and Bilal Coulibaly contributed 10 points, both reaching double figures as well.
Our next friendly match is scheduled for August 10th in Sarajevo, where we will compete against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
