Champions League Schedule Released: Budućnost to Face Debrecen in Podgorica Opener

The 30th season of the EHF Champions League kicks off with the OTP Group Budućnost handball team hosting the Hungarian team Debrecen in Podgorica on September 6/7.

After the draw held in Vienna on June 27, the European Handball Federation (EHF) revealed the match schedule for the group stage. Bojana Popović’s team will face off against Debrecen, along with Norwegian Storhamar, French Metz, Hungarian Győr, German Borussia Dortmund, Danish Esbjerg, and Romanian Gloria Bistrica.

The “Blues” will compete against Storhamar in the second round on September 13/14, and the reigning European champions Győr will visit Podgorica on September 27/28.

Before the World Championship, eight rounds of the EHF Champions League will be completed, with OTP Group Budućnost set to host Esbjerg on November 15/16.

During the group stage, teams will be divided into two groups of eight.

The top two teams in each group will progress to the quarterfinals, with teams ranked third through sixth moving on to the round of 16.
