Football club Budućnost announced today that Nenad Lalatović is no longer the head coach, with Ivan Delić stepping in as his replacement.
Additionally, Predrag Kažić has been appointed as the new executive director.
“Football club Budućnost AD Podgorica informs the public that Nenad Lalatović is officially no longer the head coach of the first team. Ivan Delić will take over until further notice. This decision was made by the Board of Directors, led by President Boris Spalević, and attended by the new Executive Director Predrag Kažić, during yesterday’s meeting. They believe this is the best solution for the club at this time. President Spalević and Executive Director Kažić visited the coaching staff and players last night to offer support and wish them success,” Budućnost stated.
The club parted ways with coach Lalatović and assistants Milan Vještica and Nermin Useni “in a respectful and friendly manner, concluding their cooperation amicably. The Board of Directors accepted the resignation of the enthusiastic strategist. It was acknowledged that the desired objectives were not achieved, and while their paths may diverge, the friendship remains intact.”
“Budućnost expresses gratitude to Nenad Lalatović, Milan Vještica, and Nermin Useni for their time in Podgorica, their effort, energy, and professionalism, and wishes them success in their future endeavors,” the statement added.
The club’s Board of Directors also resolved to fully support the newly appointed assistant Ivan Delić, who will be aided by current assistants Srđan Nikić, Mihailo Tomković, Milivoje Grbović, Veljko Bajković, and Ivan Novović.
“Delić is a product of our club and city. We believe that his talent, knowledge, commitment, and passion for Budućnost will help stabilize the team and invigorate our championship ambitions. At just thirty-nine years old, Delić is regarded as one of the promising coaches of his generation in Montenegrin football. He has notably succeeded in developing talent in our Youth School, particularly with the exceptional 2006 and upcoming 2009 generations. This led to his promotion to the first team coaching staff under Ivan Brnović, and now he has the opportunity to lead the first team,” Budućnost further announced.
As a former player, Delić captained Budućnost, exemplifying the Podgorica football ethos, winning several trophies, representing the Montenegrin national team, and playing internationally in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Albania, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“FK Budućnost will keep the public updated on all future actions from the club’s management, including President Boris Spalević and Executive Director Predrag Kažić, who are committed to bringing Budućnost back to stability,” concluded Budućnost.
