Jadran’s Third Title
The young water polo team from the Adriatic has claimed the title of Montenegro champions in the category for players born in 2009 and later.
This victory marks the third national championship cup for younger categories that has been secured at Škver, as Jadran previously finished first in the competitions for players born in 2005 and 2007.
At the tournament held in Kotor, the team from Novljan recorded five wins out of five matches.
Budva secured the second place, followed by Budućnost in third.
The decisive match took place in the first round, where Jadran triumphed over Budva with a score of 8:6. Notably, Dimitrije Milić scored four goals for the Herceg Novi team, while Matija Franeta netted three for Budva.
Jadran also achieved victories against Verde (9:5), Budućnost (8:3), Katara (21:4), and Primorje (6:3).
Alongside Milić, Stefan Vraneš also displayed exceptional scoring ability throughout the tournament.
Budva claimed second place by defeating Primorje (7:6), Qatar (26:5), and Verde (7:5), and in a crucial last match for the second-place position, they overcame Budućnost (9:7) with Mijat Kastratović scoring three goals and Luka Dragović adding two.
Budućnost secured the third spot with three wins against Verde (12:7), Kataro (21:3), and Primorac (5:3), along with losses to Jadran and Budva. Danilo Savović and Sava Stamatović were standout players for the Podgorica team during the tournament in Kotor.
The fourth place was occupied by Primorje, which was defeated by Jadran, Budva, and Budućnost, but claimed victories over Kataro (19:3) and Verde (8:5).
Verde finished fifth with a record of 1-4, while Kataro ended the tournament without a win.
