Montenegro held the upper hand for a considerable period, particularly until the middle of the second half. When Mia Grujić netted a goal in the 42nd minute, bringing the score to 19:15, it appeared as though Montenegro was on the fast track to the quarterfinals.
Regrettably, in the final moments of the match, Anđela Guberinić and her teammates could manage only three additional goals, allowing Hungary to secure the victory.
Yet, there’s still a glimmer of hope for the quarterfinals. A four-goal victory against the Czech Republic in tomorrow’s match, coupled with a Hungary loss to Denmark, would elevate Montenegro to second place in the group and into the top eight teams.
Additionally, if Hungary fails to overcome Denmark, Montenegro could land in third place, and securing a win against the Czech Republic would see them progress to the quarterfinals as one of the two best third-placed teams.
