Cadets Gear Up for the European Championship
As our junior team battles for a spot in the quarterfinals of the European Women’s U19 Championship in Podgorica, another national squad is gearing up to showcase their talent against Europe’s finest!
Starting July 30, the cadet national team will compete in the capital of Montenegro. This team, comprised of players born in 2008 and later, has already made a significant impact this year—claiming a silver medal at the Mediterranean Championship in Podgorica in February, and recently notching two wins against Austria in friendly matches held in Vienna.
The cadets are currently engaged in the initial phase of their training ahead of the upcoming European Championship. They will face France, the Czech Republic, and Lithuania in Group E, with preparations taking place at Ivanovi Koriti under the guidance of coaches Miloš Perović and Bobana Krstović.
The national team received a visit from the President of the Handball Federation of Montenegro, Petar Kapisoda, who expressed pride in hosting another significant tournament that will feature 24 teams from across Europe. Kapisoda extended his best wishes to the young handball athletes, confident they will make the most of their training time in Ivanovi Koriti and Nikšić, and honorably represent Montenegro among the continent’s elite.
The roster includes 21 players, with contributions from coordinator Prof. Dr. Dobrislav Vujović and physiotherapist Anđela Kontić Perović.
