Greece Competes in Cyprus Without Antetokounmpo

Two-time NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo will be absent from the Greek national team during an upcoming friendly tournament in Cyprus.
The Greek Basketball Federation announced today that Vasilis Toliopulos and Vangelis Zugris will also be unavailable for the tournament in Limassol, alongside Antetokounmpo.
The selector Vasilis Spanulis has named a roster of 16 players including: Costas Papanikolaou, Costas Slukas, Janulis Larencakis, Tanasis Adetokunixo, Konstantinos Mitoglu, Tajler Dorsi, Costas Adetokunixo, Dimitris Huakis, Antokinis Pacalic, Karajanidis, Omiros Necipoglu, Aleksandrs Samodurov, Lt. Liotopoulos, Aleksandrs Nikolaidis, and Athanasios Bazinas.
The Greek national team is set to face the Serbian national team in their first match at the tournament in Limassol on Saturday at 19:30 PM, followed by a match against Israel on Sunday at the same time.
This friendly tournament in Cyprus serves as a preparatory event for this year’s European Championship, scheduled from August 27 to September 14 in Latvia, Poland, Cyprus, and Finland.
In Limassol, the Greek national team will compete in Group C alongside Spain, Italy, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus, and Georgia.
