Charges have been brought against M.Lj. from Podgorica on suspicion of illegal trafficking.
The Police Directorate (PD) reported that to address the gray economy, officers from the Regional Security Center “North,” alongside Customs Administration officials, inspected a vehicle in the village of Konatari in Bijelo Polje, uncovering and seizing excise goods.
“On the Dobrakovo-Bijelo Polje road, a freight motor vehicle bearing Podgorica plates, operated by M.Lj. from Podgorica, was stopped for inspection. While M.Lj. presented a customs declaration as proof of the origin of the excise goods found, law enforcement and customs officials suspected that, alongside the declared items, there were additional undeclared goods. The vehicle was subsequently returned to the customs terminal,” the statement specifies.
The UP noted that the customs seals had been removed, confirming that besides the declared items, there were also undeclared goods, including alcoholic beverages and food.
“A criminal complaint has been filed against M.Lj. following regular procedures, as ordered by the prosecutor,” the UP concluded.
