The Supreme Court has announced an extension of the detention for Dejan Đinović (25), who is suspected in the murder case of Zoran Nikolov in Golubovci, for an additional three months.
According to the announcement, the Council of the Supreme Court of Montenegro, in response to the proposal from the Higher State Prosecutor’s Office dated June 24, 2025, has decided to extend Đinović’s detention until October 1, 2025, due to reasonable suspicion of committing the crime of aggravated murder.
“The extension of the defendant’s detention is justified by the risk of flight and is necessary to ensure the proper proceedings, given that these criminal offenses carry potential penalties of ten years in prison or more severe sentences, categorized as particularly serious due to their nature and consequences.”
“To recap, Đinović’s detention was initially ordered by the investigating judge of the Higher Court in Podgorica on April 3, 2025, and was extended by the decision of that court’s council on April 29, 2025. Accordingly, the Supreme Court of Montenegro’s decision allows for detention until October 1, 2025,” concludes the press release from the Public Relations Service of the Supreme Court.
