The assembly session for the Women’s Handball Club OTP Group Budućnost took place in Podgorica, presided over by Nikola Petrović, the president of the club’s assembly.

Following the club’s Statute, Dragoljub Nikolić was appointed as the new president based on the proposal from the Mayor of the Capital City, Saša Mujović. Additionally, Nemanja Đurašković, Mirko Mašković, Jagoš Pupović, Olga Sekulić, Jelena Radivojević, and Aleksandar Radojević were named as board members.

During his address, Nikolić expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to lead a club steeped in tradition, well-known in European handball, and a source of pride for Montenegro.

“I am honored to take the helm of the largest sports institution in Montenegro. I believe that through our collaborative efforts, Budućnost will reclaim its rightful place at the pinnacle of European handball, and Podgorica will once again be a hub of European championships. With commitment, professionalism, and robust support from our friends, we can achieve remarkable results and continue to shape the history of both Montenegrin and European handball. I extend my heartfelt thanks to Mayor Saša Mujović for laying down a solid financial foundation for our club’s successful future,” stated Nikolić.

The first meeting of the new Board of Directors resulted in the appointment of Goran Cmiljanić, a former player for Lovćen, Partizan, Spanish Granollers, and various other clubs, as the new director. His extensive experience within handball organizations post-retirement will be an asset.

“It is a tremendous privilege to be entrusted with a significant role within the largest Montenegrin club. Budućnost has always represented exceptional value in European handball. Together, I am confident we can steer the club back to its deserved status. It’s crucial for us to enhance our work in youth categories and establish a strong foundation for the club’s future,” Cmiljanić remarked.

After the assembly, Mayor of the Capital City, Prof. Dr. Saša Mujović, addressed the gathering of players, coaching staff, and the new Board of Directors.

“Today marks the beginning of a new era for Budućnost, which was hinted at a few months ago with OTP Group’s entry as the club’s general sponsor. Our vision is clear: this club deserves stability, a strong infrastructure, and a serious sports initiative. The newly appointed Board of Directors includes representatives from the club’s sponsors, partners, current and former players, as well as fan representation,” Mujović stated.

Mujović expressed gratitude to the club’s outgoing director Marijana Bulatović for her dedicated service in the previous term and voiced optimism that the new sports director would infuse new energy, foster good communication with the coaching team, and diligently work to enhance the youth categories.
