The police in Podgorica have arrested AM (27) and VM (26) on allegations of committing robbery and aggravated theft against two victims—a 69-year-old man and a 70-year-old woman—whom they robbed of money and various personal belongings.
“According to suspicions, on June 21, 2025, they followed the victim as he walked from the Railway Station in Podgorica to the Stari Aerodrom area. They then approached a residential building, caught up with him, and physically assaulted him, using punches and kicks to strike his head and body. Following this, AM stole his purse, which contained cash, a mobile phone, and house keys,” stated the Police Directorate.
The police reported that the 69-year-old man suffered significant injuries, including a fractured jaw, requiring surgery at the Clinical Center of Montenegro.
“On the same day, in the Konik neighborhood, AM and VM targeted a 70-year-old woman, who had visible facial injuries. They followed her to the entrance of her building and forcibly took her wallet, which contained around 260 euros, personal documents, and a bank card, before fleeing the scene,” the statement continued.
As a result of the suspicions surrounding their involvement in aggravated theft against this individual, criminal charges have been filed against AM and VM with the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica. The suspects were detained after being interrogated by the prosecutor’s office, according to the police statement.
