There was absolutely no genocide in Srebrenica, which does not mean it was not a terrible war crime

Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabić affirmed today that the events in Srebrenica in 1995 were “absolutely” not genocide against Bosniaks, although she acknowledged it was a horrific war crime.

During her appearance on Informer television, Brnabić remarked that the atrocity in Srebrenica in July 1995 “should have never occurred.”

“It is certainly not genocide, but it is a grave war crime. Genocide is what afflicted the Serbs in the NDH (Independent State of Croatia) during World War II,” stated the Speaker of the Serbian Parliament.

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the “heinous crime in Srebrenica,” Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić extended his condolences to the families of the Bosniak victims.

“Today marks thirty years since the tragic events in Srebrenica. We cannot alter the past, but we must strive to change the future,” Vučić wrote on the social network “Iks” (X).

He expressed his belief that “a similar atrocity will never be repeated.”
