Hungarians Shine in Budva with an Impressive Final Quarter
In a friendly match held in Budva, the Montenegro U17 water polo national team faced a setback, falling to Hungary with a score of 12:9.
The outcome of the game was determined in the final quarter, which the visitors secured with a decisive 4:1 triumph.
Under the guidance of coach Miodrag Mirović, Montenegro was ahead 6:5 at halftime, but the teams were tied 8:8 going into the last quarter.
Botond Balog and Bence Haverkamp each netted three goals for Hungary, showcasing stellar performances.
On the Montenegrin side, Strahinja Gojković matched that feat, scoring three goals as well. Tim Perov contributed two goals, while Ivan Marković, Srđan Janović, Nikola Petrović, and Petar Popović each added one goal to the tally.
This match marked the first gathering and initial friendly game for the team, which is aiming for success at the European Championship in Manisa, Turkey, this August.
This is the same group that achieved a commendable fourth place at last year’s world championship.
