For the sixth consecutive match, Sutjeska’s players were unable to secure a victory against Petrovac, as the encounter in the third round of the MeridianBet First Montenegrin Football League ended in a 1:1 draw last night.
Sutjeska last claimed victory over Petrovac in March 2024, winning 2:1 in an away match. Last night, Milija Savović’s squad went ahead with a goal from Vasilije Čavor, only for Adnan Bašić to equalize just before halftime.
“It wouldn’t have been unjust if we had won, as we had opportunities to do so. The goal we conceded at the last moment of the first half affected us. I believe we became complacent after taking the lead, thinking chances would come easily. They did arrive, but we squandered them due to lack of focus, which ultimately cost us. Towards the end, we did have a chance to win, but we missed. The struggle against Petrovac continues. We have lessons to learn, analyze, and proceed from our initial performance,” Savović stated.
In the next round, Sutjeska will face Jezero away.
“The start of the second half was challenging, yet we started to take control as the game progressed. Overall, I believe we merited the win. However, such situations occur, and Petrovac took advantage of our mistakes,” added Savović.
