They Stopped the Fire from Spreading
Four former employees of the Budva marina—Goran Bijelić, Nebojša Žerajić, Boro Tabaković, and Dejan Ćeranić—were the first to reach the yacht on fire last night and successfully halted the blaze from spreading like a domino effect to nearby yachts moored alongside it.
According to eyewitness accounts shared with Vijesti, the four were enjoying coffee at a marina bar when they noticed flames reaching two meters in height.
“They jumped into a rubber boat and were the first to arrive at the yacht, quickly beginning to untie neighboring vessels to prevent the fire from engulfing the expensive yachts, which could have resulted in millions of dollars in damages,” they recounted to Vijesti.
These individuals had worked for the previous marina management for nearly twenty years, but opted to leave their positions after the Public Company for Coastal Zone Management failed to provide them with permanent contracts by the agreed date of June 30th.
The operation to rescue the vessels was executed successfully last night, with the burning yacht being effectively isolated.
The former marina workers also assisted in the effort to remove the yacht from the marina.
