The head of the citizens’ organization “Movement for the City,” Đorđe Zenović, has claimed that the European Movement is now looking to privatize the “Budvanska rivijera” Hotel Group, handing over the “Slovenska plaža” tourist resort along with the “Aleksandar” and “Mogren” hotels to the MK Group.
Zenović, whose group holds two seats in the Budva parliament, supports his assertions by noting that PES has appointed an outsider as the head of the “Budvanska Riviera” Board of Directors to facilitate this process.
“Recent developments this August suggest that PES intends to sell the majority stake in the ‘Budvanska rivijera’ tourist resort to MK Grup, aiming to fully transfer the ‘Slovenska plaža’ resort and the ‘Aleksandar’ and ‘Mogren’ hotels to them. The ultimate aim is for the Budva Municipality to assist in this project by planning large-scale high-rise developments at the Slovenska plaža site. An outsider has been appointed to lead the Board of Directors, possibly to streamline the execution of this plan. Naturally, PES will remain uninvolved in Budva, as they have a total of 50 votes from their families, and the proceeds from the share sale will temporarily secure social stability until the 2027 elections. We’re still unsure how the excesses of individual government members and widespread hiring in state administration are being funded. I didn’t believe it at first, but it appears they were established to demonize and completely dismantle this beleaguered state,” Zenović stated.
