The police apprehended A.Š. (39) in Pljevlja and VM (42) in Nikšić for drug-related offenses, temporarily seizing their vehicle for necessary legal checks, as announced by the Police Directorate (PD) today.

“Officers from the Regional Security Center ‘West’, as part of ongoing efforts to monitor individuals of operational interest and their associates, are working to combat the abuse and distribution of narcotics, enhance preventive measures, and bolster citizen security. They detained two individuals and confiscated cocaine, along with a luxury vehicle. In the course of months-long operations aimed at preventing street-level drug distribution, several packages of cocaine were previously seized, and misdemeanor charges were filed against three individuals. The Nikšić police submitted a criminal report to the Higher State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica against VM (42) from Nikšić, suspecting him of unauthorized production, possession, and distribution of narcotics,” the statement reads.

According to reports, the Nikšić police, in collaboration with border police, conducted a search of VM’s apartment and other associated premises yesterday, uncovering 10 PVC packages containing a white powdery substance similar to cocaine, a scale for precise measurement, a €500 note believed to be counterfeit, and communication devices related to the criminal activity.

The Pljevlja police have arrested A.Š. on charges of enabling drug consumption, having allegedly provided the narcotic buprenorphine to an individual in a parking lot in Pljevlja, where he was apprehended by police.

“The officers of the Regional Security Center ‘West’ are actively executing measures within their jurisdiction to combat street-level drug distribution. These activities are systematically implemented in cooperation with other departments of the Police Directorate to enhance citizen security and strengthen the fight against drug abuse,” concludes the PD statement.
