SC Derby is undergoing a team reconstruction—following Mateo Drežnjak, Justin Turner, Darius Johnson, Balša Živanović, Aleksa Ilić, Zvonimir Dujaković, and Jiro Davis, the “students” have welcomed a center from Canada to strengthen their roster.
Next season, Enok Boaki will don the jersey of the Podgorica club, as announced by SC Derbi.
“He is a young player from one of the top NCAA basketball programs, Villanova,” stated Derby.
Boaki, who hails from Brampton and is 22 years old, stands at 211 centimeters. He is noted for his physical prowess, long wingspan, and ability to dominate the boards on both sides of the court.
“At the collegiate level, he has earned a reputation as a dependable rebounder, a solid defender, and a player who efficiently finishes plays close to the basket,” they added.
In the previous season, he participated in all 36 games for Villanova, averaging 4.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 0.7 blocks in 22.9 minutes per game.
“His field goal percentage was particularly impressive at 65.9%, alongside consistent free throw shooting at 74.6%. He capped off the season with a double-double performance (11 points, 11 rebounds) against UCF. Boaki brings to SC Derby the profile of a center—a tall, strong, and agile player who can handle significant responsibilities in defending the paint, offensive rebounding, and exploiting pick-and-roll situations,” concluded the Podgorica club.
SC Derbi will participate in the ABA League once again this season, starting with a home game against Borac on October 4. Prior to that, they will meet FIBA Champions League qualifiers on September 19.
