Our Cadets Progress to the Main Round of the European Championships
The Montenegrin women’s cadet handball team has successfully advanced to the main round of the European Championship for players under 17 in Podgorica.
In a decisive match for second place in the group, our cadets triumphed over the Czech Republic with a score of 26:19, securing their spot with two wins and one defeat.
The game began unfavorably in the “Bemax Arena,” with the Czech Republic taking an early lead of 10:6 in the 12th minute.
By the 15th minute, the score was tied at 7:7, but the Montenegrin team rallied impressively, conceding only one goal before halftime and leading 12:8 at the break. The second half also started strong for Montenegro, highlighted by Ivana Savić’s goal in the 42nd minute, extending the lead to 17:11.
Anđelina Orbović earned the title of player of the match, scoring six goals, while Andrea Jovanović contributed five, and Ivana Savić and Andrea Dragnić each added four goals.
Goalkeeper Maša Dubljević delivered another outstanding performance, making 15 saves, achieving a remarkable 51 percent success rate in interventions.
